    Niv, a Harvard educated high-tech executive, brings over 20 years of experience leading complex and sensitive technological units and projects, developed in a multidisciplinary, deadline-driven environment.

    Niv is a proud alumnus of the elite technological unit of Israel Defense Forces’ Intelligence Corps. In his last position prior to founding Voyage81, Lt. Colonel (Res.) Price, led an R&D organization of 300 professionals, managing all aspects of a multidisciplinary enterprise that produced state-of-the-art technological systems, including the entire R&D cycle from initial planning to successful operational deployment, budget, human resources and operations.

    In his leisure time, Niv is an avid skier, addicted to espresso and enjoys traveling the world.

    Dr. Boaz Arad
    Co-Founder  & CTO

    Boaz completed his Ph.D. in Computer Vision at the Ben-Gurion University (BGU) Interdisciplinary Computational Vision Lab.  

    While pursuing his Ph.D., he developed the core technology that now powers Voyage 81.

    For his work on hyperspectral data recovery, Boaz was awarded the European Machine Vision Association “Young Professional Award 2017” as well as the Zlotowski Center for Neuroscience “Best Research Project of 2016” award.  

    Boaz was also recognized in the 2018 “36 under 36” entrepreneur list published by "Calcalist" magazine, a leading Israeli financial paper.

    Boaz is also a proud former Israeli Speedskating Champion.

    Dr. Omer Shwartz
    Software Lead

    Omer has earned his PhD in Cyber Security in the Ben-Gurion University (BGU), where he also completed his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Bioinformatics.

    He has extensive experience in software development at companies such as ECI and Dell EMC, as well as hardware design know-how and testing experience.

    In his free time, Omer is an avid tinkerer and maker of things – the quintessential engineer.

    Alon Hirsch
    CFO

    Alon arrives at Voyage81 with over a decade of experience in the financial world, including international practice in fundraising M&As, heading a family office, and strategy work in firms such as Ernst & Young as well as various startups.

    He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a CPA from Tel Aviv University Summa Cum Laude.

    Alon is also a tennis and diving enthusiast.

    Dr. Rotem Mairon
    Computer Vision Engineer

    Rotem holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Ben-Gurion University (BGU), where he studied computer vision, machine learning, and human visual perception.

    In his thesis, Rotem showed how parts of a visual scene could self-organize to highlight important visual data. This work has won him the Zabey award for an outstanding thesis in the faculty of natural sciences at BGU.

    In his free time, Rotem goes undercover as a drummer and also enjoys teaching himself modern physics whenever the spacetime continuum allows.

    Eitan Cohen
    Senior Software Architect

    Eitan is a senior software engineer with over 11 years of experience at major companies such as Dell, EMC, and Amazon.He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Ben-Gurion University, Magna Cum Laude.

    Eitan also loves messing with electronics and is an enthusiastic gamer.

    Hilit Unger
    Senior Data Science & Computer Vision Expert

    Hilit is a machine learning and computer vision expert with over 20-years of experience in companies such as IBM, Broadcom and Amazon.

    Notably, Hilit helped launch Amazon’s Lab126 Research Center in Israel in 2014. Hilit holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering Magna Cum Laude from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

    In her free time, Hilit plays the piano and grows various berries in her garden, including the “miracle fruit” bush.

    Nimrod Morag
    Senior ML Framework Architect

    Nimrod is a senior computer vision and machine learning expert who has been a major contributor to several submitted patents and also gained vast experience in corporates and startups alike.

    Nimrod earned a double major in physics and computer science from the Ben Gurion University (BGU).

    In his night job, Nimrod is an expert sewer of children’s costumes and enjoys designing arts and crafts with his kids.

    Nir Lifshitz Yogev
    Senior Software Engineer

    Nir brings close to 15 years of experience as a senior software and systems engineer, and he is an alumnus of the elite technology unit of the Israel Defense Forces’ Intelligence Corps.

    Nir holds a M.Sc. in electrical engineering, Magna Cum Laude, from the Tel Aviv University.

    While diving in the Philippines, Nir has actually seen a Mantis Shrimp!

    Shay Sagiv
    Computer Vision Engineer 

    Shay joined Voyage81 after six years of distinguished service as a Data Scientist in the Elite Intelligence Unit of the Israel Defense Forces.

    Shai holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Tel Aviv University.

    As a nature enthusiast, Shai loves Trekking and is an amateur sourdough bread baker.

    Computer Vision Engineer

    Niv holds a M.Sc. in Brain and Cognitive Engineering from the Korea University, where he focused on developing deep learning-based methods for neuroimaging analysis and classification.Niv also earned a double major in Computer Science and Pscyhology from the Tel Aviv University.

    If he looks familiar to you, this might be because Niv served as a background actor in the (failing) Hollywood film Vampire Academy.

    Lea Bromberg
    Data Collection Student

    Lea specialized in field testing in Israel Defense Forces’ most elite technology unit.

    Most recently, Lea has been instrumental in creating the world’s largest natural images hyperspectral database while at Voyage 81.

    Lea is as quick and agile in the physical world as in the technological one – she was the former Israel champion in ballroom dancing.

    Amir Bernat
    Senior Physicist

    Amir built his first hyperspectral camera using a CD, cardboard, duct tape, a webcam and an open-source user interface.

    Since then, he has worked with various types of spectral sensing tools targets and fields, from stars to molecules, automotive to cancer detection.Amir holds a M.Sc  in physics from the Ben Gurion University (BGU).

    He is also a long-time astronomy hobbyist and enjoys sharing this hobby with others.

    Tal Pinkert
    Director of Operations

    Tal's passion is human resource development. Prior to Voyage 81, Tal was an operations manager at IBM. She holds a BA in Business Management and graduated with honors from the Ben Gurion University.

    A former professional dancer, Tal spent more than 10 years mastering contemporary dance style.

    Tech Advisory

    David holds a Ph.D. in Spectral Photonics Processors and he brings to Voyage81 a rare combination of academic knowledge earned in top institutions such as Cornell and the Hebrew University, coupled with industry expertise from companies like Applied Materials and practical know how from his distinguished service in the Israel Defense Forces most elite technology unit.

    Topaz Gilad
    VP of AI and Algorithms

    Topaz is an R&D manager specializing in AI, machine learning, and computer vision, leading production-oriented innovative research.Topaz joined Voyage81 as VP of AI and Algorithms, with experience in large companies as well as startups, in various industries, from space imaging and semiconductor microscopy to sports tech, wellness, beauty, and the self-care industry. She has developed methodologies to scale up while improving quality, delivery, and teamwork.Topaz is also an advocate for women in tech. When she is not building algorithmic teams, she enjoys painting.

    Computer Vision Engineer 

    Gali holds an MSc. in Computer Science from the Ben Gurion University after serving in an Elite Intelligence Unit of the Israel Defense Forces.

    In her free time, Gali clears her mind with handicrafts and pottery art.

    Jonathan Grozovski 
    Computer Vision Engineer

    Jonathan is an enthusiastic researcher who earned his BSc. in Physics and Brain Sciences from the Ben-Gurion University and his MSc. in Mathematical Biology from the Weizmann Institute.
     
    In his leisure time, he enjoys open-water swimming and hosts an offline backup of IMDb in his head.

    Vision Engineer

    Tal brings her experience in advanced deep learning and classical computer vision algorithms to the voyage81 team. She holds a BSc. in engineering and is currently working on her master's degree in electrical engineering at Tel Aviv University.

    Tal makes a special sugar dough cake, but only for her nephews! So don't try to ask her for one.

    Sivan Perel
    Software Engineer

    Sivan is an experienced software developer. Prior to joining Voygae81 she worked at Elbit Systems and completed her national service at the Soreq Nuclear Research Center. She holds a BSc. in computer science from the Tel-Aviv University.

    Sivan’s big passion is sports. She mostly prides herself on being a ‘Ninja Warrior,’ and you can find her training in any free time she has.

    Bat-El Steiner
    Computer Vision Engineer

    Batel, an Msc graduate of the Ben Gurion University computer vision lab, Joined Voyage81 after serving almost 10 years at Mamram, IDF’s central computing unit, as a computer vision researcher and a team leader.
     
    Already at the age of 3 Batel started studying ballet dancing, and at the age of 12 she discovered her love for programming.
